Wildcats dump BU from unbeaten ranks

Terriers suffered their first loss of the season last night, losing 5-2 to UNH in Durham. Junior co-captain Dave Warsofsky (photo) gave BU an early lead on the first of his two goals, but the Wildcats scored the next four to put the game out of reach. BU, clearly playing its worst game of the season, was markedly outshot by UNH, 49-22. BU played much of the game with five defenseman as Sean Escobedo received a five-minute major and game misconduct penalty for hitting from behind.

Team meet again tonight at Agganis Arena.

Looking back
Kevin Shattenkirk certainly has good timing. With the Avalanche hosting the Rangers in a game his family in New York was watching, he scored his second NHL goal, was +3 for the evening and was interviewed on the Rangers' broadcast--in Colorado's 5-1 win. Matt Gilroy didn't make the scoresheet for New York, but did lay a nice hit on his former BU teammate Brandon Yip.
Recap with video link

Ryan Whitney assisted on two goals for Edmonton but the Oilers lost to Phoenix, 4-3 in a shootout. With 16 points overall, Whitney is sixth among NHL defensemen in scoring.

Looking ahead
2011 recruit Alexx Privitera assisted on two goals in Muskegon's 4-3 shootout win against Dubuque. With sixteen points, Privitera is the top-scoring USHL defenseman and sixth overall in scoring.
