Terriers drop 3-1 decision to New Hampshire

Terriers dropped a 3-1 decision to New Hampshire at Agganis Arena. The visitors took advantage of a slow start scoring on a turnover midway through the first period and then on a rebound minutes later. BU failed to score on multiple power plays in the second period, but got an even-strength goal when Matt Grzelcyk made an end-to-end rush and Danny O’Regan banged home the rebound. Freshman Matt O’Connor kept the margin at one while BU outshot the Wildcats 34-15 during the final two periods, but they couldn’t put another past red-hot goalie Casey DeSmith.  An empty netter in the final second of regulation closed the scoring. O’Connor stopped 33 shots, earning second-star honors.
