Greeley's title; transfer for the blueline

Last week we posted on reports that Steve Greeley had joined new BU head coach David Quinn's staff. Those reports indicated Greeley would be an assistant coach; however, the official announcement from BU shows that the former Terrier forward and Los Angeles Kings scout is associate head coach, the same title held by Mike Bavis who resigned in May after 15 years on Jack Parker's staff.

The Watertown (NY) Daily Times reports that Clarkson University defenseman J.D. Carrabino has left the Golden Knights program and will transfer to BU. A 6'6" 232 pound, right-shot blueliner from Connecticut, Carrabino red-shirted the 2010-11 season and was in the lineup for three games last season.

Prior to enrolling at Clarkson, he played in the EJHL for Springfield where he was tied for the Pics' scoring lead among defensemen with 29 points (5g, 24a) and added 2-3-5 in five playoff games. He also led the team with 93 penalty minutes. Previously he played for The Millbrook School (2-12-14 in 20 games) and USHL Youngstown (0-1-1 in 28 games).

This past Thursday, Carrabino tweeted: "Gonna miss the boys at CU. but looking forward to moving to Boston and playing for coach Quinn and the terriers the next 3 years." It is expected that he'll practice with the Terriers next season but won't be eligible to play in games until the 2014-2015 season.
