Team USA plays for gold at World U18 Championships--UPDATED

Three future Terriers and their Team USA teammates will meet Finland in today's gold medal game at the World U18 Championships in Zug, Switzerland. The championship game begins at 1 p.m. ET and is being livestreamed for free on FASTHockey.

In yesterday's 7-2 semifinal win over Canada, 2016 recruit Clayton Keller scored a goal and two assists and 2015 recruit Jordan Greenway scored a goal. Through six games, Keller has nine points (4G, 5A) and Greenway has seven points (1G, 6A). The third future Terrier, 2015 recruit Charlie McAvoy, has three assists and is among the plus/minus leaders with +9. (stats). Two other key performers for Team USA are sons of former BU standouts: Matt Tkachuk is the son of US Hockey Hall of Famer Keith Tkachuk, and Chad Krys is the son of former BU captain Mark Krys.

Junior goalie Matt O'Connor, who has been visiting NHL teams interested in signing the free agent, is getting strong interest from the Ottawa Senators.


Looking back--NHL Playoffs
The season ended Saturday for Nashville's Colin Wilson and Vancouver's Nick Boninio and Adam Clendening, whose teams were eliminated by Chicago and Calgary. Wilson led the Predators in goals with five goals in seven games, a new team playoff record.


Terriers still alive in the playoffs: Ottawa's Eric Gryba and Alex Chiasson, Islanders' Brian Strait, St. Louis' Kevin Shattenkirk and Minnesota's Charlie Coyle.
