Thanksgiving traditions; IBUH #7; Red Hot Hockey on Terrier TV--UPDATED

In a Daily Free Press feature video, five Terriers talk about their families’ Thanksgiving traditions. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Episode8 of Inside BU Hockey features Bernie Corbett’s interviews with Head Coach David Quinn, senior Mike Moran (photo, below), and “old dog” Chris Henes. Moran was a three-sport standout at Taft and played for the BCHL Victoria Grizzlies and for the Bay State Breakers in the EJHL before arriving at BU in 2012. Finding a home centering the Terriers’ checking line, he’s accumulated 10 goals and seven assists during his BU career, including the Terriers' first goal in their 2013 Red Hot Hockey win. Henes, a contributor to The Terrier Hockey Fan Blog and BU hockey historian, was a Terrier team manager in the early 1970s.

Red Hot Hockey

The fifth edition of Red Hot Hockey in New York’s Madison Square Garden takes place Saturday with BU facing off against Cornell. The teams will play for possession of the Kelley-Harkness Cup.  This piece of hockey hardware was named after the legendary coaches Jack Kelley (BU) and Ned Harkness (Cornell), who were behind the benches when the Terrier-Big Red rivalry was established. As a result of the Terriers 3-2 win in November 2013, Kelley’s name comes first on the trophy.

BU announced on Wednesday that TerrierTV will stream a live Webcast of the Red Hot Hockey game free of charge. (Link). Joining play-by-play announcer Bernie Corbett in the broadcast booth as color commentator will be Jack Parker, another legendary coach who spent 40 seasons behind the BU bench.
