College Hockey News talked with freshman Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson about playing for Sweden in the World Junior Championships, about centering BU’s top line and about doing “those small things coaches talk about all the time.”

SB Nation/BC Interruption previews the upcoming home-and-home series between the Terriers and Eagles that begins with Friday's 6:00 p.m. start at Conte Forum and concludes Saturday at 7 p.m. at Agganis Arena.

Massachusetts Hockey explores the keys to improving playmaking skills with BU Head Coach David Quinn, who explains:

“Whatever the situation calls for, you have to pay attention to people on the ice. You just have to [keep your head up]. That’s a mental alertness. And that goes with not staring the puck down when you don’t have it. You have a responsibility every second you’re on the ice. Too often people think their responsibility starts when they get the puck.”

The Hockey News’ Prospect Need to Know report includes a sleeper alert on 2017 recruit Patrick Harper/

Sleeper Alert: Patrick Harper, C – Avon Old Farms Winged Beavers (Conn. HS): The prep schooler is leading his Avon Old Farms squad with 20 points in 10 games and he does it with intriguing speed and skill. A little undersized, Harper still plays in all situations and it will be interesting to see how NHL teams view him on draft day. He’s a Boston U. commit.

Looking back
